We've had almost a foot in Swanley. My school has been closed since lunchtime Tuesday, although the announcement has come at different times on each day...
Wednesday: 7am Wednesday morning (as I was getting into the bath!)
Thursday: 12:05am Thursday morning (thank you, no, I guess I don't need to sleep now)
Friday: 4pm Thursday afternoon (that's more like it!)
It does mean that I've got some extra writing and marking done, and had a very pretty view of the snow for three days.
Oooh, coconut macaroons!

It's very cold today. -5 when I left for work at 8.40 and I don't think it's much warmer now. It's certainly keeping people at home. We've had lots of phonecalls from people renewing their books rather than venturing out onto the slippery pavements in the cold.
I can't blame them at all!

Minus five! What about the bunnies? I get home late and hardly get to see them at the moment!
I like the 12:05am announcement of the school closure. Good timing!Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I gave the bunnies some warm toast this morning. They sniffed it and bolted downstairs until it'd cooled down (which was about 10.5 seconds after I put it in the hutch).

The snow that came down in the hail last week has been washed almost all away by rain.
You know what this means for walking around even with boots...

All the rain of yesterday will be dangerous ice by tomorrow morning & for the rest of the week. You have been warned.

I know I've wondered before whether our little village is living in a world of its own, but.... not only don't we have any snow anywhere around here, there's no frost on the gardens either, and today has been dry, sunny & mild. I took the dog out for about 3 miles this morning, and it was nice and warm - we've even got washing out on the line.
Of course, it'll probably be blizzarded up to the windows by morning now I've said that...

Probably cheaper to house & feed than a team of Huskies.

We've just had a very short but sharp downpour of Hail. Most of it is melting as it lands due to the rain of last night/this morning but it was a surprise I can tell you.

The forecast is not good for South Wales, we were supposed to be going caravanning tomorrow with our friends in Swansea for our birthday weekends parties on site. We've called that off, don't wanna be stranded.
Viv's panicked a bit due to said forecast and we've just come back from doing our food shopping for Christmas, so the 'fridge and freezer are full and we've invited friends around for a party tomorrow evening. Fortunately I have the night off work so the snow, if any, won't bother me until Monday.

Well!! The forecast has been true to form, we've had a six inch fall, it's still coming down, only problem is, I have to get home from work.

We've had nothing here yet barring a small snow flurry yesterday which lasted 10 minutes or so. It's a nice clear frosty morning here at the moment.

We can't- we've got a family party in Bristol to go to. That's going to be challenging since it's already snwoing heavily there right now and we're forecast to potentially get a heavy snow tomorrow too.

I did! But it took me forty minutes rather than the usual five. I went around the long way that I knew would be used by haulage traffic, but even that was a bit dicey. Viv was waiting with a nice cuppa when I got in, so were the dogs, who wanted to play out in the street.
It has been snowing on and off all day, when I got up at twelve o'clock I looked out at a lovely snowy scene, took one of the dogs up the park a little later, he ran around madly when I was throwing snowballs for him and is now flat out on the floor waiting for the next little jaunt out.
The forecast is looking pretty rough for the next couple of days, thankfully we did our shopping yesterday so don't need anything atm. Fortunately it's our Friday off today so I don't have to work tonight. Probably by Monday things will have calmed down a bit and we can get out should we need anything.
