Finally looking like winter here in Massachusetts, and just in time too, mini-Arisia is set to start an afterschool ski program at a nearby ski area today.

Had a nice run out on the Settle and Carlisle railway today- fabulous rugged Northern scenery and a dusting of snow on the Three Peaks and the platforms at Garsdale and Dent (where my family originated from about 300 years ago).

We've had a light dusting of snow over night. We don't tend to get very much snow down here, so even that is an event.

Yes derfinatley a light covering where I am. It was nice (plesant, novel experience) walking through virgin snow this morning. May that last for a long long time and then may the afterwards slush not be around for long at all.

It snowed here in Islington too - it reminds me of the foam in Fury from the Deep.
No seaweed, mind. But Trudi is acting a little strange. And I can hear a strange thumping, pulsating sound coming from the central heating...

My little corner of South East London had about an inch of snow which thrilled the kids.

I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?

Still a bit of snow remaining from yesterday, not much chance of any more for the next few days though. Mini-Arisia has Friday home from school, and normally she would go out and play, but it's going to be darn cold with a wind blowing: -23 C wind chill ( -9 F), so the coldest day of the winter so far.

Good old South West Trains! The snow didn't bother them at all. No, the trains were only delayed by 40 minutes today because of 'awaiting a member of the train crew at Reading'.
So it's lazy train driver rather than snow messing things up.Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

We had about 3cm and it caused transport chaos. Not that that takes much these days.
It took me about 3 and half hours to get to work this morning and I couldn't actually get to Kings Cross. I had to travel to Charing Cross via London bridge and London Bridge Tube station.

I know I've said this before, but the British always used to cope with 'extreme' weather conditions in the past - why can't we nowadays...?
Apparently we had a little bit of snow last night, but I didn't see it, and there's not sign of it today. However, there's still a little bit of flood water near me, and it's frozen over.

Despite the Evening Standard promising that 'EVEN WORSE WEATHER IS ON IT'S WAY!' it was fine this morning. Chilly, but no snow.
The trains ran on time too. It's lovely when they do!

It's a fine morning here in South Wales too. Snow, no show, but, I'm assured that if I go over to Brecon I might see some.

There was a thick frost here this morning but the sky is clear & the sun has melted all in its influence. Nothing but damp patches left...I like damp patches.
