Free translation programs?

Does anyone know a good program (free) for translating german -> english and visa versa.

I still keep in touch with my German penpal from ages ago - and occasionally we'll chat in German, but I can be a bit rusty.

I've been using Babylon, but now it's all kind of you have to pay.

Thanks Jeff - well actually I think I used to use that, but it's now so clouded Google with the sites that pay tis impossible to see the good from the bad on Google now.

I was talking to my penpal - I still think of her as "my 13 year old penpal" (she's married now, and over 30) - in a mixture of bad German and English last night. Hey at least I try.
