Not yet - Though I doubt that the Doctor's Daughter would make something that killed people, at least deliberately.

I don't think the machine was made with the intention of killing someone. The machine, after it lost its pilot, did the natural thing and went looking for someone to pilot it. Death was only a bad side effect of a failed test. Plus, we can't say for sure that how the machine was acting was specifically how it was created to. Just think of Girl in the Fireplace - the robots were doing their job by doing anything and everything to repair the ship, even though they were not designed to be killing machines.

I quite enjoyed this episode. The burning question for me though and perhaps the most important link with the old series;

Was The Doctor humming the same tune in the shower as he did the last time he had one? (In Spearhead from Space) I think he was but haven't checked up.

No, he was humming 'La Donna e Mobile', which Pertwee sings in the opening minutes of Inferno. I don't know what tune he's humming in Spearhead.
