Default Nicky Wire writing a script for Doctor Who

Of course, it's almost a certainty that this will never even get submitted, let alone accepted and made, but what a fusion of genius* this would be. I'm just ludicrously excited about the thought of such a thing existing - not to mention the inevitable cameo and potential for headlines based on songtitles.

    *Or more likely, "horrendous travesty"

Ah, didn't realise there was already a thread for it!
Yeah, it just sounds like 'Vincent And The Doctor' with a different setting, historical figure and monster? Not really convinced it'll be taken up. But you never know. Good luck to him. If all else fails Big Finish might... yeah...

I just hope that we can forgive him.

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

Doctor Who Confidential must be salivating! They could talk about the Design team and use 'A Design for Life', they could do a bit on a scene where someone is sad and use 'So Why So Sad'....

... and I'm sure they could find an appropriate use for 'Yes' with it's chorus that goes 'He's a boy, you want a girl so tear off his...' etc etc.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

But if you tolerate this then the Stereophonics will write for Torchwood next?

"Of course it’s going to have a massive f***ing monster in it too" does not fill me with confidence. Follwoing the reference to "Vincent And The Doctor", what I disliked about that episode was how it seemed to go with the "we could focus on doing a proper historical story, but nah, let's go with chucking in a monster/baddie for them to chase" and Van Gogh was just a historical celebrity plug.

It is rather wandering into "I'll believe it when I see it" territory, isn't it!

At no point was it ever suggested that Nicky had actually been commisioned to write a Doctor Who script. Groan.

That did lead to Dead Trees and Traffic Islands, which is a top tune. Perhaps his Who script can do something similar...
