    Default Electronic Payments/online shopping facilities

    Hi,

I was just wondering if anybody knows about adding things like 'shopping carts' and 'electronic payments' to a website.
We (the wife and I) are ok with building a website in general, but we have not yet tried to add these types of facilities.
I believe we need to get hold of something called "e-commerce" (which I imagine is something that can be downloaded)?
However, does anyone know where is a good place to get hold of this and whether there is anything else we need to know.
We did get some information from a 'computer expert' and he was going on about the format of the website (something about html pages being no good and that the website had to support something else - it didn't mean a lot to me I'm afraid).

What we are really after is something that we can add to a website that we are going to build which will allow us to include on that website the following functions:

    Display as shopping trolley/cart/basket
    Make electronic payments (Paypal etc)
    Add Discounts

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Andrew

The PayPal website has a lot about this - it looks like they'll take you through it step by step.
Dennis, Francois, Melba and Smasher are competing to see who can wine and dine Lola Whitecastle and win the contract to write her memoirs. Can Dennis learn how to be charming? Can Francois concentrate on anything else when food is on the table? Will Smasher keep his temper under control?

If only the 28th century didn't keep popping up to get in Dennis's way...

Thanks Lissa - we will have a look and see if it does what we need it to do.

Oooh very interesting. I'm just wondering what site you're setting up now.

I shouldn't get too excited if I were you. Besides it's something that Oksana is thinking of doing, rather than anything I'm planning to do.
