I've deleted the cache. Hopefully that will resolve it.

I had the same problem today.

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

I've cleared the 'strikes' table on the forum.

Please let me know if this is still continuing - or if it only continues in certain locations.
(because in each place you try you will be coming over a different internet connection).

    Thanks.

Thanks Philip. I'm in now having been unable to log in to the site since the migration. I'll keep you posted if I encounter any problems.

Thanks for letting me know Mike.

Can other people confirm if they can get back in now - or not, please?

So it lets me do that with the 'remember me' checked on log in, but it won't without it checked.

Thanks so far Philip- I'll keep you updated.

    Hi Mike,

    Glad to hear it.
I'm pretty sure I know what's going on. I'll be able to confirm it at the weekend and I expect I'll need to add a bit of code to the login process.

Quickly, if you have issuing logging in, try clicking the Remember Me box.

I think it's purely personal 'cos people hated the fact that I voted off Tom.

Hardly surprising I was denied a chance to vote on the final couple of days

    Apologies for the issues caused.

I've implemented a fix, so that Remember Me is no longer required.

It works for me - but please test it and let me know if it doesn't.

    Thanks.

Nobody else having issues reading/posting on the forum?
I arrive at the main page ok, but anything after that I have to try 5 or 6 times for anything to open.

Seems OK here Wayne. Anyone else having trouble at the moment?

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

What's the error message when you do have problems?

Takes 10/15 seconds and then says "This Web Page is not available". But then approx every 5th or 6th time it posts as normal. Been doing it since last night.

    Hi Wayne,

It must be the October gremlins into into the works

I've restarted the services on the server - is it any better now?

If not, can you follow Google's article here: https://support.google.com/chrome/an...17805?hl=en-GB and see what the detailed error is.

It's the same, unfortunately. Tried it on Firefox, and still the same too.
    Ok I'll try that link.
    Cheers Phil.

It's still happening. Can't figure out why. Everywhere else fine. It's just PS.
I've cleared my cache, but it's made no difference. Even when I'm not logged in it's still the same. And as well as Chrome, I've tried Firefox, Opera and I.E. - No difference. Even adding an emoticon doesn't work.

    That is odd.

What's the error message in Firefox? - I can decode the Firefox error messages (I've found that Chrome and I.E. hide the error which hurts diagnosing the issue )

Have you tried rebooting/resetting your internet connection?
Just turn off whatever box that does the Wifi or where the internet comes into the home - leave it for 10 seconds, and turn them back on.

That will kick the internet connection and possibly give you a new IP address.

Another thing is to try the forums over 3G on your phone.

Tried all the above except the phone thing, because I don't do phone internet, just got a PC.
Anyway, no difference I'm afraid. And every other place on the net is absolutely fine. For some reason it's just PS.
Here's a screenshot of the error on Firefox:

    So it's a Timeout issue.

That means that your request for http://www.planetskaro.org.uk/... took too long for the web browser

    That can be from:

    • A firewall blocking the connection
    • The server taking too long to respond
    • Or something else delaying/blocking the connection

I've tuned some settings on the server to better handle connections that are slow.
    Is there any improvement?

If you have a firewall on the machine, can you try disabling that - temporarily?

What is your ISP and what is your IP address https://ipv4.google.com/?#q=ip+address ?

Can you also time the time to the timeout message - if you get what I mean?
I want to know how long it takes for the message to appear.
That will give me a clue as to which timeout it's hitting - then I can tweak that

I appreciate your efforts Phil. I'll have a look at that tomorrow. Early night tonight.
