I didn't see it, or tape it. In fact I've no idea what we're talking about.

Mark Lawson talks to Mark Gatiss - part of the occasional interview series. Back in 2005 he did one with RTD around the time Who was about to start and Casanova had just been on. I will watch it on iplayer probably and I imagine I know someone closer to home who has recorded it if I decided I want a copy.

It's BBC Four guys, it'll probably be on several times over the coming months.

Saw this last night - what an awfully nice chap he is. Quite scarily, his upbringing echoed my own - what a pity our paths diverged - ie. he became a rip-roaring success in the field that he loved

I was very impressed - Mark Gatiss went up greatly in my opinion during the interview! Although he did shy away from talking about his involvement with new Doctor Who. That might be reasonable though, given that he's been interviewed about all those things elsewhere.

Well worth tracking down on BBC4 or I-Player.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

He was at the same gig as you last week as well according to his tweets.

Moving on I'm currently listening to episode 5 of the radio series Michael Grade: On the Box in which Grade is discussing the mid 80s when he was working on BBC One. So far we've had mentions of many TV highlights including the launch of EastEnders and the arrival of Neighbours.
Gosh they've even got Julia's theme playing...
Presumably we'll get onto Doctor Who before I start crying.

Finished it. Really interesting programme but for those not interested in EastEnders and other 1980s TV goings on the discussion on Saturday night TV and Doctor Who begins at 46 minutes in.

I caught that Grade show by accident. Spoiler discussion for those who haven't heard it yet.

So, unless I missed something, why is he talking more about how the show got revived in 2005 and the fight for the rights rather than his decision to scrap the show in the first place?

Well the way it was advertised, "Yes... and I'll be talking about Doctor Who!" you'd be forgiven for thinking he was going to confess all. Instead... Er... I've heard many things said about Grade, but I never expected "Stalinist" to be one of them!

I wonder if he ever has considered going into politics!

Incidentally, he was on a TV programme last night, talking about Hughie Green, and the caption that introduced him read "Lord Grade". Erm... wasn't that his uncle Lew...?

Don't forget Tales from TV Centre at 9pm on BBC Four tonight, and Blue Peter in a couple of weeks (or less) with a brand new mini-episode!

I see the barrowboy has been cast in Arrrow, the TV series about DCs Green Arrow. He plays 'a mysterious character' apparently.

Oh yes! And I see that there's two others in the cast with double barrelled names - must be a fad!

Well, following on from John Barrowboy in Arrow, Alex Kingston is now confirmed as a cast member for later in the season.
