Currently listening to some lovely 1920s songs from a show I might be performing later this year but as I've not applied for the license yet I can't say what it is.

Because my original tape has worn out, I playlisted stuff from Past Masters to make the exact order of The Beatles Rarities.
On You Know My Name (Look Up My Number). It really is the best album you can get. Past Masters mean there'd be no point to a Rarities re-release. But I think it basically being 1962-1970 I think it's better than 1962-1966 and even 1967-1970.
Play the songs in chronological order and they really DO become a great Rock 'N' Roll band who basically went weirder on drugs!

Emeli Sande "Next To Me" - next big thing's new single. It's quite epic sounding, and not unpleasant, but I'm not sure it's immediate enough as this arguably has to be her "breakthrough" track.

Well, I'm currently not listening to the Frank Sinatra 4 cd box set "The Complete Capitol Singles"...

I ordered it via an American seller on Amazon marketplace before Christmas, £31 + £1.26 postage. It still hadn't arrived by the promised date of January 11th, so I contacted them and they quite quickly got back to say they'd dispatched another copy. The promised delivery date for this passed a couple of days ago and I started to get suspicious. They have now fully refunded me, but I suspect they never actually sent it at all. I think having Amazon impose a postage rate of £1.26 for a 4 cd set from America to the UK made them think it wasn't worth it. I'm not out of pocket, and they keep their feedback ratings on Amazon.

They did give me some dodgy story about a sack of post leaving New York but never arriving here...but completely failed to mention the other copy they'd supposedly sent. Once, yes, but twice?

The Best of Lorraine Bowen - how did not hear any of these songs before? Amazing. Not for the first time since joining PS I feel as if I've only just started to live!

Best kept secret in modern pop. She's more glam than Bowie's underpant collection and more iconic than Nelson's Column.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Just listened to "Take It From Here" on Radio 4 extra (why did they re-brand the station name - Radio 7 sounds far better!) This was a comedy radio programme from the 50s starring Jimmy Edwards & the omnipresent June Whitfield.

Whilst a lot of the comedy hasn't aged very well, there were some quite funny (and really punny!) moments.

Today, I have mostly been listening to Jimi Hendrix and Derek and the Domminos. Therefore, of course, I've heard both their versions of 'Little Wing' (brilliant song) amongst other things.

Stevie Ray Vaughn's instrumental of Little Wing is probably my favorite version, though it is very close.
