I'm enjoying the short-lived Ray Gillen (RIP) era of Black Sabbath at the moment, which consists of a few live bootlegs and the demos for an album which he would eventually leave the band before it was completed, to be replaced by Tony Martin on the full version.

Ray Gillen died of AIDS in 1993. Obviously, whilst not as famous as Freddie Mercury, there was a memorial concert to help raise awareness. The unusual thing about Gillen is that it is believed that he contracted the disease from unprotected sex with a woman who was HIV positive.

Like Freddie, he has one helluva voice, and his singing is sorely missed

I'm glad that these appeared on an official release eventually, even if they don't sound entirely finished. So much better than their previous collaboration on Black Sabbath's Seventh Star!

Still the Corrie album and bits of Adele, off whose new album I like at least 3 or 4 songs. That's not made for a £3.99p purchase is it? Some of it is quite production-heavy epic/minor key piano, which reminds me of "Choirgirl"-era Tori Amos.

REM's Out of Time. I'd forgotten what a strong album it is- it'd been ages since ilast heard before we took it away with us.

However I still don't think Country Feedback is a great song. Near Wild Heaven is a bit of a lost gem though.
