Only the cliffhanger. As far as I can tell all the clips are from Episode Two, except for Mike Yates' thrilling bike stunt from Episode Six.

I really can't remember this story - did they seriously just keep the cameras rolling and make his bike crash into part of the episode? What does Mike do to escape after that?

And wouldn't we all have liked to have strapped Jon Pertwee to a table?

    I'll rephrase that...

I think that Aussie cover us only for people who bought it at the screening. Wouldn't surprise me if it also became a retailer exclusive (ABC Shop, most likely!).

Day of The Daleks covers - who cares? They got it spot on in 1987 and since then it's been downhill all the way.

They may not bother to update it, though... they're *still* making new copies of things like Talons in the 40th Anniversary jackets!

Indeed - I'm glad that we never got them in the UK! I was quite pleased with the far more tasteful sticker that we got on the DVDs that were released that year

    And mine arrived yesterday!

Not that I'll be watching it till we get round to Day in our marathon, though...

The original, and then probably go back and do the SE as a "repeat" later on

I was so disappointed that band named themselves after the character from Taxi Driver and not Blake's 7!

Well a group called Bayban the Destroyer does sound ever-so-slightly silly...

Well I first watched the special edition. Pretty good what they'd done.
But they'd edited out a "Hello?.." when the Brigadier is on the phone to a minister in the first part. I thought that added a nice touch of "bad telephone connection" but clearly the new producers thought otherwise.
I'll watch the other disc and the features later. But the "Trailer" included on this DVD is the biggest waste of DVD space ever!
Still doesn't take anything away from this DVD and I commend it to the house.

Watched the first two episodes so far, and rather underwhelmed by the new CGI so far. Doesn't quite seem to fit the story, imo, as some of the 80s reduxes have done.

Also gave the UNIT Family extra an airing, rather good, but slightly a shame it's on a story where UNIT are so completely inept. Episode 2...oh, the Doctor's disappeared, shall we look for him in that open door to the cellar a few yards away, or call up the Brigadier so he can shout at us for being rubbish?

I laughed at that bit as well. You just can't get the staff in those days could you?
And also, the Doctor, Jo and the Brigadier had the time to get back to UNIT labs to test the future laser... while Benton was still in an ambulance with one of the injured future people. Was it so hard to get to a hospital in those days?

Just watched Disc1 - superb! The story stands up very well without the enhanced effects - though I'm very much looking fwd to seeing Disc 2. A shame Roy Skelton wasn't doing the Dalek voices though. It's good that they interview "minor" actors as well as the regulars in the extras sections. They mentioned "1 gold Dalek and 2 blue ones". I always thought they looked dark silver to me!

Very well deserved. I've been working through this set over the last couple of days and there are some super features on both discs.
