    They should send Mexicans round for this task!

    Now that I've got that out of my system, this seems to be a pretty desperate ploy to win votes at the next election. When the country's screwed to bugger in 2013, they can point at their Happiness Polls and say everything is great.

    Oh, and what about the Happiness Patrol?
    Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

    What are they going to do, set up a Ministry of Happiness?

    With maybe Happiness patrols looking for unhappy people. "Oh no, Mr Jenkins doesn't seem happy. That's because he doesn't understand how much the coalition does for him. Thankfully that's why we have the Happiness Patrol - so away he goes now to one of our reeducation camps to be taught the errors of his way!"

    What a waste of time. So they can afford to pay people to devise, collect and analyse this data but not to keep public services going.

    it really is laughable they are going to hammer people with massive cuts, take away peoples benefit, force them back into work while making 500k public sector workers redundent and want to know if we're happy..
