So is he playing the Doctor again? Or The master? Or Claudius?

So he's not at all typecast then?

Certainly not! he's playing Third Drag Artist. No typecasting there - what an outrageous suggestion!

Jacobi was great in Shalka, and after doing a Big Finish, I'm very pleased he's going to appear in proper Who.

Aplogies for my last post. Seriously, this is indeed excellent news - he's a brilliant actor, and, as Pip says, he was great in both 'Scream Of The Shalka' and 'Deadline', and it was really only a matter of time before he appeared in the series proper. Once again, it proves how big the show is, that they can get guest stars of this calibre.

Incidentally, will he be the first knight to appear in 'Doctor Who'?

If I thought Jacobi was filming in Cardiff I'd be down there like a shot with my Claudius boxset and paperback.

I just knew it would be either that or a 'Battlefield' reference...

"Well now," - Dear Del (to his friends which I count myself amongst) does like variety in his roles - from a Roman Emperor to a Vampire Count!!!

SO, I'm not surprised that having done two things already connected to "DW" that he's now going to be in the series proper. Can't wait for that episode, either!!!

Of course, Jacobi's first link to Doctor Who was way back in 1973. Anyone guess the link?
    I am out there... somewhere.

He was the original choice to play Sarah Jane Smith.

    Ladies: Michelle COLLINS!

False icon and sometime Madonna-look-a-like. She's the sort but she should be Zoe Lucker.

That wouldn't be Professor X, the Whoniverse's equivalent to Saturday prime-time family favourite Doctor Who, would it?

Well there's Paul McCartney in The Chase, but he wasn't knighted at the time, so technically yes.

As for Derek's first links with the show, was he going to take over from either Pertwee or Roger Delgado?

"Well now," - Technically, this will be "DEREK's" third venture connected with "DW".

I can't wait for this episode in particular as, not only being a great Fan of "DEREK's" but, after seeing him some 100 plus times on stage (over a 10 year on-going period) - I also am very happy to count him as a personal friend!!!
