According to a tweet yesterday, lee Binding has completed the cover and the following extras have been cleared...
The British Board of Film Classification have passed the special features for the forthcoming DVD release of the Jon Pertwee adventure The Ambassadors of Death:.

00:01:27:01 (DOCTOR WHO - THE AMBASSADORS OF DEATH) (TRAILER)
    00:13:05:07 TOMORROW'S TIMES - THE THIRD DOCTOR
00:04:24:15 THE AMBASSADORS OF DEATH - PHOTO GALLERY
00:25:49:16 MARS PROBE 7: MAKING THE AMBASSADORS OF DEATH
I'm guessing this'll be out in the autumn sometime.

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

Is there anything on the restoration / recolouring then? You could do a two hour documentary on Ian Levine's involvement.

Get him involved in it, it'll last two weeks!

I don't think Levine had any involvement in this release did he? I know he once tried to recolour Ambassadors but they wern't interested in what he came up with. That said, the lack of a restoration feature is always dissapointing. But why have something technical when you can have a writer and a comedian woman laughing at the stories and making unwitty comments?

Well, the extras don't always all get passed at the same time. It's not impossible that an extra on the restoration of the story might get added. There's still plenty of time

Gosh, that looks marvellous, doesn't it!

It's a shame that we'll probably get to it in our marathon before the DVD comes out. Still, it'll be a good'un to re-watch when the DVD does finally make it to us in the post...

    AHA!

Definitely not going to be a restoration feature on this one, as Steve Robert said over on GB, when asked whether there's going to be one...

I do wonder whether they were going for a similar idea to the Rills in Galaxy 4, since those hideous Ambassadors turned out to be just as benign!

Well, it was basically a Malcolm Hulke script, wasn't it, so it's not surprising that there should be a theme of not judging on appearances, and aliens turning out to be benign.

I do really like this story, so I'm looking forward to seeing it one day, all spruced up.

My Aunt Dolly's not in a benign mood right now, not after they used that photo of her.

    I'll shut up now.

There's some really stupendously good-looking work coming out at the moment, what with the general look of this, and then the screencaps from The Reign of Terror.

I really hope that the finished, moving products look as good as the screencaps that we've been seeing over the last week or so

I'm not 100% certain that it is - but it does look like one to me.

Alas not - Bignell confirmed over on Gallifrey Base that it was a publicity shot.
