I hope it's a return to form after the dreary stuff on the last two albums. The titles look nice.

Mine Smell Like Honey has got to be a good song. Hasn't it?

R.E.M. emailed me to tell me that I could download 'Discoverer' from their new album.

    I haven't done it yet!

A song called "Oh My Heart" has got to be lovely, hasn't it? They'd have to try really hard to mess that up. I can hear the lush strings now. I bet it's a beautiful song.

I already don't like 'Alligator Aviator Autopilot Antimatter' (featuring Peaches and Lenny Kaye)

This album will stink like a worm-infested potato except for 'Blue (feat Patti Smith)' which will be the greatest R.E.M. song of all time.

I used to really love R.E.M., but the last two albums have really broken that love, for me. I'll struggle to get excited about this. Can't they release 'Out Of Time 2'?

I like their stuff, but only have the Out of Time album. Very good it is too.

Discoverer suggests that this is 'Monster 3' rather than 'Out of Time 2'.

No chance it's "Reveal 2" then?

Well, I think you might class Reveal as 'Up 2', though I'd reckon it's a lot better than that. And Automatic For The People is 'Out Of Time 2' in my book.

Out of Time was Green 2. Automatic was Life's Rich Pagent 2.

    Possibly.

I got too hear most of it on saturday and it did sound pretty good, much better than the last two I thought. Not sure if I'll buy it yet though, more because I've just gotten out of the habit of buying new cds!

At the moment I haven't bought it.

I could pop into HMV on the way home.

I think I'll listen to the samples of all the tracks on Amazon and download the songs that don't sound rubbish!

I've had a listen to it on Spotify and well, it sounds like Out of Time, only probably not quite as good.

It's R.E.M's first album in 23 years not to make the Top 2 of the UK albums charts.

Assuming it doesn't climb any higher, that is.

And the first one to be promoted on The One Show...

I agree with Si, I also thought it sounded similar to 'Out Of Time', which is no bad thing in my book.

Hmmm - not so impressed on a first listen; there are a couple of stand out tracks but the rest are nothing to make me want to rush out and buy it.
