Who's The Best Frontman of All Time?
Inspired by a recent poll, the results of which were as follows:
1. Axl Rose (Guns N' Roses)
2. Freddie Mercury (Queen)
3. Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin)
4. Ronnie James Dio (Black Sabbath, Dio)
5. John Lennon (The Beatles)
6. Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden)
7. Thom Yorke (Radiohead)
8. Kurt Cobain (Nirvana)
9. Matt Bellamy (Muse)
10. Paul McCartney (The Beatles, Wings)
The correct answer is of course Freddie, but who do YOU think is the Second Best Frontman of all time?

There's no doubt about this! It's Freddie Mercury by a mile, he had it all, he was the ultimate showman. The others, as diverse as they are, don't really come close

Definitely Ronnie James Dio - here he is with Heaven and Hell about a year before he died. Still rocking as well as ever, despite the fact that he was 67 and had terminal cancer (which was apparently causing him a LOT of pain).
WHAT a great frontman!

Freddie by a country mile.
I'd also point out that Phil Collins does a great job as frontman between songs for Genesis.Bazinga !

And although I bang on about this far too often, I've never seen anyone interact with a crowd on such an intimate and inclusive way as Neil Finn. He may not whip the crowd up into a frenzy, but he does manage to create a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere, even in huge arenas. That's not something that's easy to do.
I suspect Thom Yorke isn't that welcoming to his audience.

I have to admit to being baffled by Thom Yorke's inclusion there. Looks like another NME trendy poll.
I would probably mention Morrissey myself.Remember, just because Davros is dead doesn't mean the Dalek menace has been contained ......

Freddie I'd say probably has it, though if you're going for showmanship tnot sure how a list includes Thom Yorke but not Jagger, Bowie, Alice Cooper or Paul Stanley.
For vocal talent alone, then Paul Rodgers is also a missing list member in my opinion.
