Despite the official magazine confirming last month that old Doctors won't be part of the Anniversary, there remains the faint hope that something will be filmed in studio, away from watching media, involving more than what we saw being shot on location. To support this:
Current showrunner Steven Moffat was interviewed on the red carpet of the BAFTAs last night - watch it in the player above. During it he talks about using 3D to film the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special and also adds, "All I've ever revealed about what we're doing in Doctor Who is anything we filmed outside. I notice people are making up stuff about who and what is or is not in that special, you're just going to have to wait 'til November to find out the truth."

In my experience, the licensed magazine (I think we have to draw that distinction these days!) seem to be repeating a lot of news they come by via the internet lately. The only items I ever take seriously in there are the ones that actually have quotes from members of the production team. The one you're talking about merely reproduced what Sylvester McCoy had been quoted as saying on Digital Spy, and I never believed a word of it for a minute. It's like quoting David Tennant as saying he hasn't been asked yet... We'll find out the truth in the fullness of time. And let's not forget, Moffat has shown his hand now. Saturday's episode was as good an indication of how he's feeling about the anniversary - and about how he might deal with it too - as anything we've had quoted in magazines or on the web.

Bernard Cribbins was interviewed on Graham Norton's Radio 2 show yesterday - dropping some hints around his possible / maybe / just maybe involvement with the 50th anniversary. He also had a very funny anecdote about working with Peter Cushing.
It's still on the iPlayer - fast-forward to about 2hrs 27 mins.

Here's a set video that reveals a very familiar and awesome sign: 76 Totter's Lane, the home of I.M. Foreman, Scrap Merchant, which is where the series began way back in 1963.
Indeed, the police officer walking past the sign appears to be a visual shout-out to the constable who appeared in the very first shot of "An Unearthly Child." — this is one hell of a beautiful nod to the show's past.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall's visit to the BBC’s studios in Wales has given rise to a couple of interesting quotes
Jenna Coleman said:We had three different Doctors playing against each other…
and
There was a gap between Paul McGann playing the Doctor and Christopher Eccleston, when we didn’t see a regeneration, and John Hurt will fit into that gap. He is a past Doctor, not a future Doctor.
So that settles that then!

The BBC announces that too:

and
The 50th anniversary episode was shot earlier this year at BBC Cymru Wales' Roath Lock Studios in Cardiff and across South Wales. Filming also took place in iconic London locations the Tower of London and Trafalgar Square for a huge stunt, which saw Matt Smith dangling from a TARDIS alongside Nelson’s Column.Assume you're going to Win

I now have a vision of Matt hanging from Nelson's Column...
And I correctly predicted the appearance of a certain enemy. There goes my quota of good luck for the rest of the year.

That sounds like one of those wishful thinking rumours where some fan says he'd like to see it & it gets repeated as is it possible which then Chinese whispers in to this rumour.
