Default New Version of Windows Explorer for Windows 7?

Argh! I'm so fed of this bloody useless bit of software. This is the latest version of Windows! DID THEY TEST IT AT ALL?!

How did they manage to miss the fact that sometimes if you delete files half (HALF!) of them stay showing in the window, even though they arn't there? Or if you delete a folder that you're looking at, rather than doing the sensible thing and taking you to the level above, it errors with a bloody annoying big bong as if you have tried to access something that doesn't exist? Or that the search engine is arguably the most useful and fundamental part of a file navigation program, so it's tucked away in a tiny pokey little bar at the top right with only two options to it, not including one to search for a user-determined size of file.

    Argh!

Am I not downloading windows updates when I should be? Have they not tried to somehow fix this stodgy old brick of an application? Is there a downloadable alternative?

    Si.

I've switched to Directory Opus http://www.gpsoft.com.au/
I know that it costs money and consider it ironic that I've paid good money for a decent File Manager that should have be included with the Operating System in the first place, but never mind.

I do not offer Technical Support for Directory Opus.

Simple solution - ditch Windows entirely, and use Linux (preferably the Ubuntu build)

Ant (who does not offer technical support for Linux, either)

I have a few minutes later before I go out, so I'll quickly install Linux then.
