So Jacko was in the running for the lead in a Doctor Who movie. And if he couldn't do it... they were going to get Bill Cosby!

Lakeland are now going overboard with Doctor Who related items:

You can now: make, bake and exterminate your favourite TV show
With Dalek cupcakes, cake stands and cookie cutters, I would do just that!!!Assume you're going to Win

Ahem! I have written a poem. It's called 'You've Got To Have A System'.
'You've Got To Have A System'
Eccleston, Troughton, Baker McGann;
Davison, Tennant, Baker McCoy.
Pertwee Hartnell Smith!Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I wouldn't mind a Northern Irish Doctor.
"Are you a Catholic Doctor or a Prodestant Doctor?"
"We have left behind the days of the gun and the bomb!"

The real test would be to see if the Daleks take advantage of the border being put across the graveyard. (There - that'll see if anyone's read Puckoon!)

It would be worth it to see the shouting match between Davros and Ian Paisley.

I've been promised a Dalek cake for my birthday (in late October).
I wonder how much it will look like the shop demo:

If it looks like Wallace and Gromit, you're in trouble...

I've never noticed before but during a library induction for Year 7s today, the school librarian pointed out some collections of books by theme and genre which were all in green boxes, apart from a collection of Doctor Who books which were in a blue box. I SO hope someone did that deliberately.

It would be nice to think so, Dave.

I'm so in the mood to watch The Five Doctors, but I'm going to try and ave it until, at least its 30th anniversary in November.
I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

Bear this in mind while you're watching the 50th anniversary story - that at that point, a longer time will have passed since the world premiers of this story and Silver Nemesis (counting the first showing of the latter in New Zealand) than it will have been since the start of the 25th anniversary story and the first ever broadcast of Doctor Who.

Ah, but if we're talking about the UK broadcast of 'Silver Nemesis', then equilibrium will have been achieved and something remarkable will happen to the universe. Even more remarkable than the words 'Silver Nemesis' and 'remarkable' appearing in the same sentence.

Today's Guardian has a photoshoot/ interviews celebrating 50 years of Doctor Who companions. Some great photos!

Not actually anything to do with Doctor Who, but I think I've mentioned before that one of our customers at work is called Steve Roberts. Well I discovered this week that he has a son - called Gareth!!
Not to mention that yesterday I had two different-sized boxes in my hands, and it was all I could do NOT to point out that if I could keep the big one that far away, but also have it here...
Sometimes the working days just fly by...

Connected to that, there's also a video of clips of them discussing the series on the Guardian's website.

To be fair, given that he's made the decision not to appear in it this year, and that's been pretty widely publicised, I can understand him getting fed up with being asked about it.
