I didn't know there were out-takes from Colony In Space!

I hope it involves an Uxaerian's wig falling off.

Have you not seen the footage of the Uxarian throwing Pertwee over its shoulder and the Director yelling "Cut!" from "More Than Thirty Years In The TARDIS"? Isn't there lots of model footage too.

Oh yes! I do remember that now you mention it. It's always nice to see some more model work, only occassionally on fast forward.

I've reversed the polarity of the neutron flow, so the page should be free of the page-stretch now. (Replaced Larry's pic with a smaller one )

I hope that's the actual cover- it's simple and effective!

If it is the cover, I'd hardly call it the most inspired in the range.

well I suppose it's a dull cover for a dull story.

I like it - nasty photoshop job on Delgado, but what recent covers have missed is focus on a central image, and this has that. It's bold, clear and not overcrowded. Doctor Who DVD covers shouldn't look like a Where's Wally poster, with everyone crammed in everywhere.

Our copy has arrived and we've done Episode One. Bit slow to get going but it picks up a bit when the colonists get attacked. The picture quality is below average alas.

Yes, it's like watching a VHS.

However, I'm really quite enjoying this one this time. It's a very beige story, very washed out, and nothing sparkles, and in many ways it feels like a Season 6 leftover. But the plot is quite meaty, there are some impressive Who acting illumini in there, including John Ringam, Helen Worth, Mitzi McKenzie/Webber, Roy Skelton, Bernard Kay... the cast is actually huge. Everyone plays it very well, under pressure, and Pertwee is well on form, the Doctor relishing the chance to explore an alien planet again.

It doesn't sparkle, but it's worthy. It's a solid sausage and mash, rather than strawberrys and champagne, but sometimes that fills you up.

The picture quality is below average, but a while lot better than the VHS was. That much is evident from watching the documentary with the unrestored clips in it.

Maybe. I suspect in these type of features that the Restoration Team charge round their office, drunk on Tizer, trampling grit into the original prints to make them look worse and by consequence, their restoration better.
