Default Alastair Reynolds to write Doctor Who novel!

    Just seen this tweet:

    DrWhoBBCBooks Doctor Who BBC Books
Very pleased to say that legendary sci-fi author Alastair Reynolds will be writing a Third Doctor novel for us for 2013...more details soon
Not read his stuff personally, so don't know much about his style... maybe Steve can help.

I've read Revelation Space and Absolution Gap by Reynolds. The first was typical bonkers high-concept sci-fi that frequently employed the phrase 'Schwarzschild Radius'. It was a fabulous thriller as well. The second was about these giant cathedrals that race around a planet. The Absolution Gap in question refers to a narrow bridge over a chasm that could provide a short-cut, but most of the cathedrals are too heavy to use it.

But can Alastair cut it as a Doctor Who writer?

    I hope so!
