    Default Cyril Shap's Apps

I found a nice app the other day, recommended through www.theregister.co.uk which was called 'Historypin'. http://www.historypin.com/

It has a basic google style map, with photos clumped together around specific locations. The wheeze is that the photos could have been taken any time in the last 150 years!

So far I've had a look at Victoria Station during WWII, The Mall during the coronation of George VI and the balcony of Buckingham Palace after the wedding of Charles and Di, amongst others.

Another option lets you overlay the old photo with your camera - so if you can get in the same place as the original photographer, you can take an updated version.

    Slightly pointless, but extremely interesting!

And by the name of this thread, I was hoping that the estate of Cyril Shaps had come out with an app based around his life.

    How disappointed am I!?
