    Now you're going down the route of whether anyone has free choice in history.

    If I went back in time & told you before you joined P.S that your login was going to be FlyingBeastie would you have not used it, or would you have thought it a good name & used it anyway? The choice has already been made in history.

    I would say she chooses to become Professor River Song, and studies archeology. That's free will, because the Doctor never told her anything about that.

    Yes there would. Because in that case the Doctor would have told her that she becomes Harriet Von Schtinkwater seeing as that is how she is known to the Doctor in her future, his past!
