I think it looks no worse than the VHS versions of Terror of the Autons or The Daemons looked! I'm just glad that there's the option of it.

I only recall them saying that about Mind of Evil episode 1...

I think time will tell, but unless they can find a cheaper way of colourisation, then I would imagine so

That's a shame. I'm sure there was a colourised image from Mind of Evil doing the rounds a while back but I gather that colourisation issues with that and Ambassadors of Death have meant they've both been pushed as far down the release schedule as possible.
At one stage I heard a rumour that the original plan had been release Mind alongside Terror of the Autons whilst the special edition of Spearhead prior to being teamed up with Terror was to get a blu-ray release as the only classic story that (due to being entirely on film) would benefit from this.

Episodes 2-6 of "Mind" were recoloured ages ago. In fact, we went to a convention once and half the guests had been watching it at home in colour in preparation for the commentary session! But Episode 1 alas remained in monochrome.

"Painting" is the only way to get Ep 1 of Mind in colour. There are no chroma dots (or what ever they are called) on it so it can't be recoloured that way.

They sent a very 'raw' colour recovery to the actors. Even if all five episodes gave good results, they'd need a lot of further processing. Steve Roberts has mentioned that each episode is very different; episode 2 has a problem for its entire length and episode 3 has an entirely different one. It's pretty clear that Mind of Evil and Ambassadors of Death will have a lot of colour, but exactly how much, and how good it will look, are still undetermined.

Spearhead from Space has been scanned in HD, in case it's ever needed for Blu Ray, but they haven't announced plans to actually release one.

Oddly enough, there's some fairly nice colour footage from Mind of Evil on the recent Day of The Daleks DVD (The UNIT Years Part 2). Not astounding, but certainly good.

Odd place to put Life After Who: Philip Hinchcliffe, considering this was Barry Letts' last story as a hands-on contributor to the series, and Hinchcliffe had another year and more in the job.

Is this available to pre-order yet? FFS It's out in less than nineteen weeks and I'm worried it'll sell out.

Am I right in thinking that very small pictures of the covers were printed in last month's DWM? I'm surprised they're not more readily available yet.

WOW!!! What a bargain to start the new year. Obviously a mistake though, but aren't they duty bound to honour this price if it is? I've pre ordered it anyway.

Well I suspect we'll all go round in a group and give them what for if they try and change the value of the orders before dispatch although after re-checking the current amazon price £15.50 would still be a saving but there's a principle at stake!

Dear anyone: what was The Story of Doctor Who (from 2003)? Was it a BBC documentary to commemorate the 40th anniversary?

(This is related to the thread, honest.)
