I am and I'm not. I am, because I hope it'll make sense of the series to date, and hopefully will make me view the rest of season 6 in a more favourable light. And I'm not, because I fear it'll be more of the same, and I won't enjoy it.
UNIT or Torchwood?
-
27th Sep 2011, 9:12 PM #83
Oh, Torchwood. They're at least more entertaining than UNIT. A lot more thinking outside the box!
Do you listen to Big Finish's range of Doctor Who audios at all?

Hell yes, love them and love Bernice Summerfield and most of the other spin-offs as well
Would you listen to an ongoing full cast Torchwood audio series if there was one (bearing in mind there have already been several well received BBC Radio 4 plays and audiobooks)?
-
28th Sep 2011, 11:46 AM #85
Never, never, never!
OK, Torchwood are on The Crystal Maze, this is the team with Owen, Gwen, Ianto, Jack and Tosh, plus Martha to bump up the numbers. They've got to the Crystal Dome with only six crystals, giving them 30 seconds of time, but Ianto and Tosh are locked in. It costs 5 seconds of time if you use a crystal to buy them out so they can play The Crystal Dome paper collection game. The question is - if you were team captain would you use any of your crystals to buy them out?
-
28th Sep 2011, 1:19 PM #86
Is it horrible to say I'd only buy back Ianto.
Anyway my actual question is are you sad that Doctor Who Confidential has been axed?!
-
28th Sep 2011, 2:17 PM #87
I didn't know it had.
When was this announced?
-
28th Sep 2011, 2:36 PM #88
It was announced on twitter by its producer this morning and subsequently confirmed and reported elsewhere. I only found out around lunchtime.
So if I can be forgiven a repetition - will you miss it?
-
28th Sep 2011, 2:50 PM #89
Yes. I know it's popular these days or even essential probably, but it's been part of the whole Doctor Who watching thing since the show came back in 2005 and I'll miss it. When it was good it was unbeatable.
Same again...
-
28th Sep 2011, 2:52 PM #90
Absolutely. It's part of my Saturday evening line up.
Was it budget or lack of viewers do you think that made them drop it?
-
28th Sep 2011, 3:06 PM #91
Probably a combination of both!
Are you surprised that people elsewhere are blaming Tory cutbacks for it being axed?

No. If you don't increase the licence fee, then cutbacks have to be made, therefore, in some ways the tories are to blame (and they hate the BBC anyway!)
Are you politically biased?
-
28th Sep 2011, 3:15 PM #93

Is there anyone who isn't?

Same question
-
29th Sep 2011, 11:22 AM #95
Not me. I fail to see how anyone can avoid showing some level of political bias in certain situations.

Two cats called Sparkle and Alfie. Sparkle was a stray and we found her on bonfire night about 9 years ago hence her name. Alfie is three years old and thinks he's a dog! By that I don't mean he goes Woof. When he is out at night and we are going to bed, we open up the door and call him once and within a few seconds he comes trotting home. Also, Alison trained him to offer his paw when being given a treat. It's fun to see and I'll post a video of it on youtube someday.
