Five companions, Sontarans, Daleks... Sounds like the recipe for 'Ultimate' Shepherd's Pie, which has over one million ingredients.

I hope it's better than The Four Doctors which I tried and failed to get through the other day.

Annnnnnd- it's out!
It's also surprisingly good. I would happily hear any of the sixties companions - as their older selves - back again in a full adventure or even trilogy with a later Doctor.
Oooh, coconut macaroons!

We thought it was a bit blah. It didn't really make full use of the Doctor meeting his long lost friends. There was little emotional content when it felt like there should have been. I'm not really sure what it was about as it didn't really hold my attention alas.

It's great fun but it does feel like it finishes before it's got going in terms of the Doctor dealing with the emotional fallout of being reunited with so many old friends. I'd say 4/5.

It's a bit of a mess, I'm afraid. It's not so much that there's not enough plot, it's just confused. People wander around and bump into the Doctor, each time spouting the kind of continuity-laden background that fan fiction wouldn't touch. Perhaps this would have been ok if the pace had been that of a character item, but it seems to want to be action packed as well, which means Sontarans and Daleks dashing around at the same time which perhaps it could have done without.
Maybe bringing one of these companions back at a time, and then reuniting everyone in a final story, would have worked better?
Si.
