Hmm, am I imagining it, or does this story never conjure up much enthusiasm? It's a good story, with some interesting concepts, but it never seems to, shall we say, 'stand out from the crowd'? I seem to remember it wasn't even greeted with much cheer when it was released on VHS. Why do you think this might be? Or am I completely wrong?

It is rather underrated isn't it? I wish I knew why.

I think it suffers similarly to Masque' in that there's not a lot really wrong with it, but neither is there anything to shout about. It's just a fairly average story....although I'm quite fond of this where as I'm not fond of Masque.

I've never been overly fond of it and can't remember when I last watched it. It suffers from "Planet of Evil" syndrome of being all alien planet meets dull corridors meets dull characters. Leela is the best thing by miles.

I'm sure they'll find plenty of extras to liven it up, and maybe there's scope for releasing it together with a special edition 'Robots of Death', as 'Boucher's Box' perhaps. Money in the baaaank!

(Edited to add: thanks for the link, Si.)

Wasn't there a SS clip on the Face of Evil video release ? An interview with Louise J, I think.

Tom and Louise look fabulous- the mountain is wrong. Just wrong.

The mountain looks like a Cyberman with a wig. The whole cover looks awful though.

    Doctor pic. Good. Pass.
    Leela pic. Bit better. Pass.
Mountain pic... *AROGAH!AROGAH! Sensitive detectors self destruct! Fail.

And what the hell's that thing by it's eye? A giant slug? Wrong story!

Apart from that though, I'll still probably get it.

Artwork? That's a first for a DVD cover isn't it? Tom's mountain looks like the watcher!

If that's the best they can come up with, maybe they should just have used Jeff Cummins' brilliant Target cover instead.

I'm guessing this is one of Lee Binding's, given the 'painting' style.

I don't mind the mountain- and I get the impression that Lee mostly gets the stories with little photographic reference (although I heard that when Destiny of the Daleks came out!).

    Oooh, coconut macaroons!
