A tiny weeny bit of the 'Origins' documentary on 'The Edge of Destruction'. Hopefully we'll be doing 'Planet Skaro Goes Back to Season One' before long!

Just finished watching The Awakening. Story still holds up well - I did find the little Malus creepier than the big Malus though!

We're back at the start. We watched the pilot episode this evening.

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

"The Myth Makers". It's very odd that Vicki's first meeting with Troilus and her last with the Doctor both take place off-screen. But overall, this is a lovely four-part story and much underrated.

You say we watched the Pilot Episode, but we actually watched the wretched 'edited' pilot, that the Restoration Team put right at the front of the DVD menu! Bah!
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I'd forgotten there were two versions on the DVD. What are the differences again? (This will be one of the next things I put on once I've caught my Dad up on the last three series 6 eps he hasn't seen!)

Basically they took out all the fluffs, all the technical problems and made an episode that's different to the pilot and different to the broadcast episode but not nearly as good to watch.

We finished off The Faceless Ones at the weekend!

I'm going to wait till Whitney's truly in the mood for more Who, before subjecting her to Evil of the Daleks - it's one of my favourite stories of all those that are missing, and I really want her to enjoy it

Yesterday, in the warm and quiet, I did "An Unearthly Child" with a nice cup of tea and enjoyed it so much I then did "Origins". Good old Donald Wilson! I was willing him to give Doctor Who a further 13 episodes.

Tonight the plan is to start "The Savages". It would have gone on last night, but I was faffing around with some audio play or other.

I did part 1 of Attack of the Cybermen on Sunday morning, having got the DVD for m'birthday. I've often said, and stick by it, that in the main it's a darned good episode and is going along fine-- when suddenly, the Doctor and co decide to stop investigating the sewers and go back to the TARDIS, and it somehow seems to go downhill from there.

What hadn't really occured to me before, was that it's a bit like a modern Moffat-y two parter, in that part 2 seems quite different from part 1. Part 1 is all Earth and sewers and film, part 2 is Telos and Cryons and studio.

Watched The God Complex with Dad this afternoon. I think we're both now wishing we'd missed it out and gone on to Closing Time.

"The Savages" Part 3. It's not the dull-a-thon that Rob'n'Toby made out, but it IS a lot of treading water. And Freddie Jaeger's Hartnell impression is nowhere near as good as everyone says.

In a possibly unique occurance, the actor playing the Doctor is hired and present for the episode but isn't given a single line of dialogue. Hartnell really was being treated disgracefully at this point.

The Wedding of River Song - I think Dad was a bit confused by the end. I'm finding the Brig scene slightly less upsetting each time I see it.
