    Default Downtime - 23rd November

    Hi,

Apologies for the downtime experienced from 6pm to 9pm (UK time) approximately.

It looks like the power was unexpectedly removed from the server around 17:50. When the server came back up there was corruption in the database/site. Attempts were made to repair the damage but it was too severe. Therefore last nights backup of the database/site has been restored and everything appears to be functioning okay.

Unfortunately this does mean that everything posted today until now has been lost. However I'm sure that won't dampen your enthusiasm for posting here and for attending the meet this coming weekend!

    Regards.

    Philip J. Ludlam.

Thanks for sorting the problem Phil! I think we all owe you a pint on Saturday

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

Yes well done. Nice to have PS back with us. As The Beatles used to sing - PS I Love You :-)

Today of all days. How spooky. Maybe the server blew a fluid link.

I've dug into this a bit and found that the 'kernel panicked' and the machine automatically rebooted itself. I will dig into why the 'kernel panic' occurred.
BTW, a 'kernel panic' is like the Windows Blue Screen Of Death.

Thanks for being here for us, Phil.

I got a Malware alert page earlier, but it seems ok now. Just thought I'd mention it.
