Default When should you put up your Christmas tree?

Simple question... when should you put up your Christmas tree?

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

Haven't you done it yet, dear?

Hmm - always a tricky one. I'm sure there are people who have put theirs up already! Personally, I go for 3-4 weeks before Christmas day. That seems about right. We scarcely have room for a tree, really.

We usually have a real tree, as it were, so it goes up about a week or so before Christmas in the hope it will still be at its best on the big day, and not shedding its needles until just after New Year.

Sounds like Darren is laying down the law there!

The tree at Victoria Station is already up and has been for over a week!

Well assuming you're not allowed to have sweets from the tree until Christmas Day they'll melt if you put them up now.

We always have a real tree which leaves a huge mess of pine needles in its wake so it never goes up until a few days before Christmas.

On the first Sunday of advent!

Sadly (well, actually... not sadly), it looks like we'll be moving the week before Christmas. So, we haven't put up any decorations, and we probably won't bother once we've moved, because we'll be too busy unpacking!

really just depends on what you prefer I've hot an artifficial one which I put up in my own sitting room but I don't like putting up my decerations to early as I get fed up looking at them by Christmas. So for me anything from 10th December onwards is when mine will go up.

Ah we have a fake dead one so leaves are never a problem.

We've never had a problem with the chocolates melting, though we do often find someone has already eaten them, re wrapped up the empty packet and put it back on the tree!

Anytime from the 1st of December is good for me.
I have no idea what house Christmas decorations there are, but I have a few strands of tinsel that have lasted me a few years - so I'll decorate my room with them!

If it's like last year, 23rd December. Then again as we have no visitors over the Xmas period might not bother.

That's not a bad idea, you know. But madness possibly that way lies.

Any time after the 1st December.

Taken down absolutely, categorically, by New Years Day morning.

Thank you Si! At last I've found someone who agrees with me. Yep, New Years Day and down come the deccys. Oh and they always go up on 10th Dec at Chez Nyder.
