Default Anthony Worral-Thompson Arrested For Shoplifting Tesco Value Food!

    Bizarre!
Celebrity TV chef Antony Worrall Thompson has been arrested for alleged shoplifting of low-value items from Tesco, it has been reported.

Worrall Thompson, who is best known for his appearances in ‘Ready Steady Cook’ and ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ in 2003, was caught red-handed on a hidden camera stealing the items from a Tesco store in Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire.

A camera was set up amid concerns that the famed chef had been stealing from the store five times over a 16-day period.

Worrall Thompson, was arrested on suspicion of theft at the branch and taken to a local police station on Friday.

It is reported that the 60-year-old, of High Wycombe, was cautioned for shop-lifting goods like cheese and bottles of wine from the self-service checkouts by failing to scan the barcodes and then leaving the store with the goods.
You'd think he could afford to buy his own cooking ingredients! What next, Delia Smith caught hotwiring cars??

He ought to brie more careful.

What a stupid man. Did he think he'd get away with it? It's like Richard Madeley all over again, people thinking because they're in the public eye they can get away with anything. It's not as if he's hard up is it?

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

And yet in the same forum we have a thread about anonimity unless convicted.

Remember he's only been cautioned - maybe he's suffering from dementia, or some other mental illness. In light of what was said elsehwere, seems a bit presumptious to assume he was doing it deliberately or because he thought being famnous would let him get away with it....

Although this is slightly different Jon, in that he's admitted it, apologised, and said he did it "on a whim and without rhyme or reason".

True, although the same report also says he will 'seek the treatment that is clearly needed' suggesting he recognises something isn't right. And I doubt that he or the police stepped forwards to give the story to the press.

Which, in light of other recent events, begs the obvious question...

I'm not sure if being able to afford it really comes into it I'm sure there have been many people over the years caught shop lifting who come from good middle class backgrounds and they have commited the crime due to emotinal problems rather than deliberatly going out to steal from a shop.

    Very good.

Are we not going to do any AWT jokes then such as he's going to be the host of a new daytime cookery show called Ready Steady Crook.
I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?

Every Little (man) Helps (himself to whatever he can filch off the shelves).

Is a very weak joke along those lines!
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!
