Very very good series all told. A lot stronger than season 27, and performing almost on part with Season 28 of Doctor Who.

I hate to say it, but I didn't watch an episode after Countrycide. I suspect what happened was that a couple of lapses in taste coincided with my slump at the end of last year but I just didn't have any enthusiasm for it. In fact, given that I only just recovered my affection for Who in time for the Christmas special, it's probably a wonder that I'm even thinking "well, I can get the DVDs when I'm in the mood".

Day One for me stands out on it's own for sheer awfulness, it pretty much put be off the rest of the series, but I did come back to watch some more.
Top of my list was probably, the ones I enjoyed ...
They Keep Killing Suzie - superb, brilliant and tense
Greeks Bearing Gifts - thought it would be a Buffy rip off but wasnt
Captain Jack Harkness
End Of Days
Cyberwoman
Random Shoes - prefered it to Love and Monsters
Everything Changes
----------------------------------------
The ones I wasn't too keen on
Small Worlds - felt too predictable and to be honest I just didn't care about anyone in it
Countrycide - "if it makes you happy, it can't be that bad" should be Gwens solo at the end.
----------------------------------------
The one I really detested ...
Day One - yeah the sex one, felt was handled badly, and I found it more unpleasant than Countrycide for personal reasons.
----------------------------------------
And the others? Well not watched them.
Ghost Machine - after really not liking Day One, I read the writeup on this and decided maybe this wouldnt me my cup of tea either so avoided
Lost in Time & Kombat - expected to pick them up through NTL on demand - only they're useless buggers!Last edited by WhiteCrow; 2nd Jan 2007 at 10:51 PM.

1.They Keep Killing Suzie
"Simply stunning - by far the best episode of the series."
2.Ghost Machine
"I didn't find it tried to cram too much in, nor did I feel (as others have) that there was any filler. It's a perfect size."
3.Countrycide
"I'd give 'Countrycide' eight bags of human flesh out of ten."
4.Out Of Time
"It certainly had enough humour and sadness, warmth and tragedy to recharge my Torchwood batteries."
5.Greeks Bearing Gifts
"'Greeks Bearing Gifts' was very disjointed but I liked it - not a lot, but I liked it. It was the funniest episode yet, it had the sexiest guest star yet, and Jack was even more like the Doctor than ever."
6.Random Shoes
"There were weak points about 'Random Shoes', I have to admit, and it certainly wasn't the best episode yet... but after such a moving ending I can't find it in my heart to criticise it too much."
7.Day One
"Much as I enjoyed seeing the formation of the Torchwood team in 'Everything Changes', it was more fun to see them actually working as a unit and investigating a real Torchwood-esque case."
8.Cyberwoman
"If Pip cringed at the snog, or Owen's stiffy, I cringed every time GDL moaned 'I'm soooooooorrrrrrrry' or started weeping again."
9.Everything Changes
"The swearing was a f***ing disgrace."
10.Small Worlds
"Barrowman aside, this was really rather dreadful. Can I say... shall I... yes - I'll make my mind up and say that this was the weakest episode yet."
I suspect you'll see several posts from me in quick succession on this thread, as I catch up with the episodes that I've missed. Actually, it's unlikely that anybody reads this thread anymore, as the series has been over for a while, so it's more likely that nobody will see these posts in quick succession after all.
Still, at least I can sit here in the nude without anybody seeing me...

1.They Keep Killing Suzie
"Simply stunning - by far the best episode of the series."
2.Captain Jack Harkness
"This was, in places, a stunning episode... possibly John Barrowman's finest forty five minutes of the series yet... you just wanted to give him a hug at the end, and not let go for a long time."
3.Ghost Machine
"I didn't find it tried to cram too much in, nor did I feel (as others have) that there was any filler. It's a perfect size."

And so, the final scores on the Torchwood doors...*

4.Countrycide
"I'd give 'Countrycide' eight bags of human flesh out of ten."
5.End Of Days
"The rift, and all the flaws and cracks in it, was clearly a metaphor for the script. But in spite of that, and in spite of a second sighting of Rhys' arse, I really enjoyed End Of Days. It had a big, epic, blockbuster feel to it."
6.Out Of Time
"It certainly had enough humour and sadness, warmth and tragedy to recharge my Torchwood batteries."
7.Greeks Bearing Gifts
"'Greeks Bearing Gifts' was very disjointed but I liked it - not a lot, but I liked it. It was the funniest episode yet, it had the sexiest guest star yet, and Jack was even more like the Doctor than ever."
