Tricky one- Ben Browder was excellent but it's probably Tom. He could hold an audience and just spout nonsense and we'd all love it.
What are you looking forward to at the moment?
I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

What's your fave board game?
-
3rd Mar 2017, 4:29 PM #884
Well Space Crusade used to be my fave, but there's a (very expensive) board game version of the PC game Doom that has come out recently. I also liked the Judge Dredd Game and Careers - brilliant fun.
Have you ever cheated at a board game?Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Sorry to take so long to answer, I've had to recollect every board game I've ever played and gone through all the old records. Lot of dust on those old files you know, plus some of the older records are all on microfiche. Anyway, yes, apparently I knowingly shoved a dice over to a six so as to deliberately get things underway in what threatened to be not so much a never-ending as a never-starting game of Ludo, in the early-00s.
Right, well I'm glad we could get that all cleared up.
So, a new question and an entirely new physical form, and a journey to a more far-flung shore, Sylv-- Sorry, no, flashbacks. A new question...
A new question...
What is your favourite meal - and when did you last have it!?
-

Italian would be my fav meals, Carbonara or Risotto being fav's. Last time I had a decent Italian would be when we went to Jamie's Italian about 2 months or so ago.
Are you looking forward to the new series of Doctor Who?
(Asked from the original queston library).

Yes, of course...I always look forward to each new series. It's just that sometimes my hopes are dashed as the season progresses.
Regarding Doctor Who, which set of people do you think are more important...the stars (whom the public are most familiar with on a week-to-week basis) or the behind-the-scenes crew (who, to all intents and purposes the public don't know much about)?

Even if there were no ideas in the pot, the actors could appear and just stare at the camera for an hour. Viewers would certainly next week or even during, but the cast have enough to be broadcast.
So it's probably both. The production needs the cast and the cast needs the production, but had more appeal to people not interested in behind the scenes stuff.
And I am also looking forward to the New Series.
What is both your best wishes and biggest fears about the new series?
-
7th Aug 2018, 7:31 PM #889
My biggest wish is that it will feel new and fresh again, like a show that has been on for five minutes not five decades - I love Who when it feels new again (1970, 1982, 1987, 2005, 2010...).
My biggest fear... sometimes, regardless of how good a programme is, it just doesn't connect. Arguably, they could have put the best Doctor Who stories ever on TV in 1986 or 1989 and it still wouldn't have made any difference. So my fear is that the show has just reached that certain age when, for no real fault of its own, it's no longer getting bums on seats. It would be very sad for the show to disappear again, and especially since some dark corners will love to be able to point at a female Doctor, put two and two together, and make five!
The Beatles or the Monkees?
-

The Beatles. I love the Monkees stuff as well, but the sheer number of classics the Beatles produced over the years gives them the edge in my book.
Marvel or DC?
-
8th Aug 2018, 10:39 PM #891
Tough one. I always preferred Marvel comics over DC but if we take the tv series into account too, the DC has the edge due to tge great Arrow, Flash and Supergirl series.

Frank Bough!!! And Ally McCoist...before he was famous for knocking in a few goals for Rangers. And I was about 10 feet away from Bruce Boxleitner once...although if the queues aren't too long (and I stump up the money! ) at this weekend's Glasgow Comicon I may be able to add Katy Manning and/or Colin Baker to that list on Saturday...

Trains, as long as they're mot too crowded, then it would be cars.
Spike Milligan or Peter Sellers?
-
11th Aug 2018, 11:05 AM #895
Tricky. Spike was undoubtedly a unique talent, with arguably a mind that, in terms of scripting and performance and comedy itself, worked differently to anybody else's - but inevitably that makes him an acquired taste, and for me in general I'm afraid I've never quite 'got' Spike. Peter Sellers, on the other hand, showed himself through various film roles to be (a bit like Ronnie Barker would demonstrate superbly later on) almost like a chameleon, adapting himself to become totally the characters he was playing, and superbly funny at the same time. So, even if only for Inspector Clousea (an officer of the luw) I'm going with Peter Sellers.

Is tea still the national drink or has coffee taken over?

I fear coffee may now be dominant - especially victim as I am to a dreadful intolerance to even the smell, which leaves me unconscious and seems to affect my blood sugar in the same way as diabetes would.
Have you ever suffered from any medical peculiarities?

Okay, perhaps an embarrassing question - let's try: what was the last sports event you went to, or are you not that into that sort of thing?
