I've always had creative involvement in the PS Audios, but "The Next Universe" will mark the end of this input into how the stories and seasons are shaped. From the start of the next season, the creative direction will be helmed by Si Hart and Brendan - and it'll all be as new to me as it is to you!

Well, it's time..but the moment has been prepared for.......

Everyone involved in the Paul Monk era of PS Audios can feel very justly proud of what has been achieved, because what has been produced has grown massively over the years into products that stand up against anything in the fan DW world (and even some of the professional stuff).

As someone who has occasionally paddled in the shallows of PS audio I know only some of the hard work and commitment that has been involved, and can only guess at the huge numbers of hours spent pulling eveything together behind the scenes and in production. And yet, there are those handful of individuals who have had the creativity, enthusiasm and sheer bloody mindedness to get it all done - in the face of equipment failures and a cast spread across the UK. These people never thought small, or aimed low, but always tried to be as inventive and creative and brilliant as possible.

Like the Lett-Dicks-Pertwee years, we will always look back on this period of PSA with huge respect and fondness. Si and Si and Paul, and Steve, Dave and Martin, are part of DW history now. And I look forward to being dragged out of my old folks home to be interviewed for some DVD release in the 60th Anniversary year, so I can regale the youngsters with tales of the early PS audios, and embelish my anecdotes about the Casino of Death, and the moving Magic Mirror, and what happened to Reverend Walker....

Well done. Splendid chaps, all of you.

I haven't had the time yet to listen to the final part of The Next Universe, but I've known about the end of Si's tenure as showrunner for a while, as well as the new Doctor...

But, what I really want to say is a massive THANK YOU to Si and Paul (along with Steve, Dave and Martin) for doing such a wonderful job for the past six years, as they depart from main roles. I strongly feel that a big thank you should go out to everyone else who been involved in the production of these audios during this time.

Now, as Churchill once said... "This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning..." I'm greatly looking forward to what's coming up in the PS Audio range!

I couldn't have put it better myself - I've always been amazed by the qulaity of these productions and the sheer enthusiasm of everyone involved. I look forward to these audios more than I look forward to the actual TV show these days - it's really the feeling that everyone who takes part in any way really 'gets' it. The humour is excellent and there's been some superb charcters, villains and story lines down the years!
Well done to eveyone and long my it all continue under the as we go from the SH years to the.....SH years!!!! - well it does fell a bit like handing over from RTD to SM, just a bit!

Oh and well done Paul and best of luck Brendan!!!!

I was under the impression from the fact that she'd mysteriously been reunited to Scott after he broke up with Kestero (that's definitely a story waiting to be told) that Vera was no longer with the real Father Christmas.
Hopefully all will become clear one day.

I'm sure we said in a previous story that they'd split up. Or maybe it was a conversation. Anyway, it should be known to everyone that Vera's husbands never hang around for long... I wonder why?

I actually only knew that because someone told me. They were still together at the time of Merry Christmas Rob McCow as there was nothing in any previous plays to contradict it.
However now that she's single and doesn't (currently) have any grandchildren (either genuine or adopted) hanging around who knows what she'll get up to next...

I always imagined Father Christmas was her most true love, other than The Doctor and Barry. But life throws many things at Vera, so goodness knows what she's been up to.

Vera is a serial bride and divorcee (if she can remember to get round to arranging the divorce) who leaves burned out husks of men scatter across the galaxy like cosmic debris. Nobody knows how old she really is, or how many men she's been married to over the aeons, but one thing we do know is that she's been gunning for the Doctor for many years!

I think I'm right in remembering Echoes of the Protii was her first meeting with the Doctor(of course it can be inferred from a certain ad-lib in The Christmas Gnomes that he's accidentally crossed paths with her lots of times subsequently). However there are many more stories to tell of this half legendary character who's name is spoken in a hush of fear on a thousand worlds across the galaxy...

Echoes was indeed the first time the two of them met. While it's implied in Christmas Gnomes that their paths keep on crossing (again and again and again and again you devil!) I always thought that was actually wishful thinking on her part rather than truth!

Or possibly a later Doctor from HIS point of view meets her a few times before Gnomes (from her point of view). There are plenty of gaps for this to happen. I like to think that at one stage (maybe after dropping Nick and Rob off on Florana) he somehow got forced into having her as a companion for a while. Maybe she wandered into the TARDIS on the Frating Flyover, believing it to be a real public loo, and it took the Doctor a few months to return her home after she stuck her curling tongs into the console and buggered it up right proper.

There's a whole raft of adventures to be told there.
