Speaking to 2|Entertain this afternoon, DWO got confirmation that the previously Limited Edition DVD Box-set of The Key To Time, will be getting a re-release this November. The re-release will not include new features, and will be repackaged in a standard slipcase that will house the 6 DVDs.

Join the popular Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) and the beautiful Romana on a 26-episode intergalactic treasure hunt for the six segments of the all-powerful Key to Time.

Includes all six stories from the popular series: The Ribos Operation The Pirate Planet The Stones of Blood The Androids of Tara The Power of Kroll and The Armageddon Factor.

Is now a good time to sell the big one on eBay, get this with the money and pocket the rest?

I wonder if they'll have new covers and be in slinky slimline cases.

Hear the squeals of anguish of those who bought several copies of the first box set so they could flog the extras for £75 + on e-bay when it went out of stock.

ETA: My mistake - I was far too generous. Play has some listed for between £175 and £200

All they'd need to do would be to include ONE extra feature. An interview, or a comedy skit or something. Then they'd sell twice as many copies.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

seeing as it's only been a couple of years since it's orignal release I feel it's a bit to soon to be releasing it if they are going to re release stories I'd much prefer thm to cocentrate on the early releases that had no extras.

The earlier stories weren't limited editions though, and the Key to Time isn't currently available to buy in shops.

the cynic in me can't help thinking that with no new series box set coming out in time for christmas this is just 2 entertain taking advantage and re releasing an expensive box set so they don't lose out on their usual sack full of money they make at this time of year.

Well why shouldn't they? They're a commercial company, that's what they do. You don't have to buy it again, but it does mean that those who didn't get the chance originally now can.

I severely doubt 2-entertain make "a sack of money" from the Doctor Who Classic Series range, Larry.

It was probably more a 'pot' of money.

If anyone's making a sack of money it's Galaxy 4, Larry - they're selling 'Dalek War' for nearly ten quid more than the BBC Shop!

Poor Larry... let the guy buy his DVD's in peace. The people at G4 have to eat too!

    Fair enough.

Play.com want £54.99 for the reissue - five pounds more than I paid for the limited edition set!
