In which case, I predict The next Doctor to be George Layton, dressed as Mr. Baskerville.

Wel certainly Clara is the name now being used freely on GB, almost as if it's been definitely confirmed.
Not sure about it myself - don't get me wrong, the first name is nice, and a lovely touch, but I have a bit of a problem with the potential full name. It's certainly catchy, but I think that may be my problem - it sounds too catchy, too 'made-up' fictional cult TV lead, and not like a real person's name, a problem which many characters in TV drama suffer from (yes, I know they are made-up, fictional people, but you know what I mean...). Why can't she have a surname like - and taking Jenna's Lancashire roots as inspiration here - Battersby, or Bartholomew, or Wilkenshaw, or Uttersthwaite?

Looking forward next year to characters with surreal names such as Jenny Jones, Dora Doombicycle and Martin Penny. They couldn't be real!Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

First official pic from filming:
Matt in costume, so maybe Jenna is as well? Which is interesting as this would suggest she is a modern day human character.

oooh! Loving the new jacket/ waistcoat combo for Matt!
I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

Jenna has been seen in the same outfit on several recent occasions so unless she wasn't paid for Titanic and Room at the Top I'm pretty sure that is her costume.

I have to admit the more I see it the more I'm hoping that new outfit variation will be around for more than just one episode...
Waistcoats are cool

There's speculation elsewhere that Clara is the Brig's Granddaughter...

This might of course simply be confusion over the character that Jemma Redgrave is playing in Episode 4 as well...

That's quite a long jacket isn't it, definitely veering towards the Edwardian look of past Doctors... and I like the pattern on Jenna-Louise's dress.

I know it's just speculation at this point, but I'm really not sure how I feel about that idea. It could be brilliant, it could be terrible. Only time will tell.
Well, Stone was one of two middle names that he had - his full name was William Nicholas Stone Courtney.

Wonderful names, all of them.
For every fail, there is an equal and opposite win.

It's funny how she looks almost nothing like she did in that initial publicity picture. Is it even the same person?

...It is Clara apparently, according to the teaser on the BBC Christmas announcemdnt today...
A sombre Doctor comes out from the cold in this year's Doctor Who Christmas Special, The Snowmen, just in time to save the world with a little help from a feisty young governess called Clara.

Is it Clara Pollard?

That doesn't say explicitly that Clara is the name of JLC's character. She could be a jolly old serving wench he picks up or something.
The Christmas Special sounds crap though doesn't it?
