Prequels
So, prequels. We all love them! Right?
Well even so prequels and reboots seem to be the in thing at the moment, so what prequel would you actually like to see?
I'd love to see a prequel to Disney's The Black Hole. The crew of the USS Palomino in that film clearly have a history and the characters are really interesting but are barely explored here. It'd be great to know more about Anthony Perkins, Dr. Alex Durant, for instance and what in his life led him to his decision to stay with Dr Reinhardt and try to do through the black hole. He a fascinating character of whom we only get a tantalising glimpse.

Blakes 7 is the first thing that springs to mind. There's plenty of scope for numerous prequels there, each one telling the story of how each particular character would come to be on that prison ship heading to Cygnus Alpha...
And of course, who wouldn't love to see a prequel to our beloved Doctor Who? Of course that would take away all the mystery of the character and so would be a story better left untold; anyway I'm doubtful that anyone connected to the show since it's return could do the concept justice.

As a prequel Space 1999 makes no sense when watched before 2001: A Space Oddessy.
It even contains a glaring continuity error. In Space 1999, the Moon escapes orbit after an accident, where as in 2001, it's back in orbit so they can find the Monolith there. Dur!Remember, just because Davros is dead doesn't mean the Dalek menace has been contained ......

I think one of the problems with Prequels as with Fan-fiction is that at the end, everything has to be "put into place for how you knew it in the original".
So you know the Jedi will fall, Palpetine becomes Emperor, Alderaan is nice to visit (but don't plan on staying) and Anakin will have a nasty accident. That said, it might be private, but Sith healthcare is really quite effective. Though Anakin's son recieves a much more effective set of prosthetics free from the Rebellion "socialised healthcare" system. And no 9-month waiting list ...Remember, just because Davros is dead doesn't mean the Dalek menace has been contained ......

Well, the fact that it could have been better and more exciting didn't help much...
