Alex, I don't think I ever inferred that Boris was my "hero", or that I even agreed with everything that man says. And I certainly don't agree with that.

At the end of the day, the Mayoral contest was always between Boris and Ken. Boris was my preferred candidate (IMO, the better one) and the one who was far more likely to actually deliver on his promises. That doesn't mean that I idolise him, or take everything that he says as gospel, by any means.

There is a certain amount of difference, it has to be said, between the "best" candidate and the "least worst"...

As far as I can see if any other candidate had stood against Boris then they would probably have won but Ken is just not good enough.
He comes over to me in interviews as one of the slimiest politicians ever.
So which did London want? A slimy politician or a dumb politician.

    And what is London getting?

A new city airport, smothering a wildlife area. London only has five existing airports, counting City, Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted and Luton.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

You may be right, but the result was very close in the end, and the Evening Standard did run a rather horrible campaign against Ken throughout...

So yet again with British politics, we get what could be seen as a bit of a farce. What was the turnout, about 32%? That means around 17% of Londoners voted for Boris.

It really isn't Boris's place to slag off the BBC, is it? He's entitled to his opinions, but it's all rather nasty.

Good thing we all know Boris has never courted the Murdoch press!

BBC Worldwide isn't at all commercial, is it Boris?

Johnson wrote: “If you are funded by the taxpayer, you are more likely to see the taxpayer as the solution to every economic ill. If you are funded by the taxpayer, you are less likely to understand and sympathise with the difficulties of business; you are less likely to celebrate enterprise.”
That would be the same BBC that shows The Apprentice, the Sir Alan Sugar business programme which is currently looking for a new person for Sir Sugar to invest with in a new enterprise?
