I'm surprised and delighted. I thought they were leaving this one till the end. Can't wait, been ages since we watched this one and it's not one I've seen a lot as it wasn't one I kept on tape after it was on and the video was a late release.

I wonder what the documentary will focus on?
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Good news - I've always really like this story, it's become a bit of a forgotten classic of the McCoy era in my opinion.

I agree with Ant! It's one of my favourites of the McCoy era.

And I'd imagine that there's scope for a really good documentary on the making of this one, with stories about strike action, JNT's determination to get it made, and THAT explosion.

That said, we'll probably just get another sodding edition of The Doctor's Strange Love instead. Sigh.

A glimpse of the cover? Why not!

I love this story- one of McCoy's best and am really looking forward to seeing it again.

Gosh, I do like these Lee Binding covers! Much more interesting than the Clayton Hickman ones

Lovely stuff! It occurred to me yesterday when I was waffling on about Come in Number Five and Trials and Tribulations that there hasn't been an overview documentary of the Sylv era yet (unless I've missed something?!) so this would be the ideal place for it as the final McCoy release.

Wasn't there one of Survival that pretty much looked over the era? Well maybe combined with the one on Time and Rani anyway?

The "Lost Girl Lost" feature was looking more specifically at the development of Ace but I guess it did cover similar ground as did "The Last Chance Saloon" on TatR. That said 2E/BBCWW are known for going back over well trodden ground in their choice of special fatures so it's not impossible.

Wasn't there one specifically on the end of the era too?

That was more to do with what we would have got had there been a season 27, it still feels like there should be something to bridge the gap between Trials and Tribulations and The Seven Year Hitch.

Nnngh. It's annoying Martin is on the commentary but not the documentary, as she's really glamorous and it would have been great to see her.

That does seem odd. Maybe she declined to appear visually to avoid unflattering comparisons to her younger self. I can't imagine she's changed that much in 24 years though although you never know with some people.

No, she looks great! Sometimes they split the contributors between the doc and the commentary so they don't repeat themselves.

Blimey, she really does look great! Hopefully she'll be at a signing one of these days.
It's strange how maturity really suits some women. Or am I just being true to the gay stereotype for once!?

    Even I would.

See, there's a vacancy for a gay bloke at the planning of these DVD's. Glam woman - you stick her on the doc. Sweaty fat man: chuck him on the audio bit.

To be fair, the documentaries have improved since The Aztecs when they filmed that obese elderly man from a low angle with his belly prominently protruding from the bottom of his shirt.
