I quite like that cover. The story is the absolute pits though.

Excellent making of feature on this one. Really good, crisp, concise and full of energy and great stories.

Just want to say what a fun extras package this was - lots of nice deleted scenes and model work, and some amazing out-takes including the Ian Reddington injury. Just a shame Jessica isn't on the documentary, and the absence of McCoy (presumably Hobbit-related) is lamentable. I was glad JNT got lots of credit for saving this story, determined not to let it become another "Shada".
The story itself is wonderful, full of great performances and ideas. Ian Reddington is just amazing! His sinister high-pitched clown and improvised hand gestures show he really thought about his performance.
The one downer for me about the story is the scripting of the Doctor. Unfortunately McCoy plays it early on as if he doesn't know what's going on, acting surprised in the ring and genuinely curious about the circus. Later on, it seems to transpire he set the whole thing up - someone should have told McCoy this when he did the location filming I think!

Jessica was on the commentary though- all the way through! I know you don't listen to them, but at least she has a big presence on the disc.

Yes, I was glad about that. She might be a good reason to break my duck!
You don't get to see her lovely long hair on the commentary though.

Very late Christmas present got handed to me today!
I admit, I watched the extras first. And I'm saddened that the outtakes weren't included. "Jesus Christ!..."
And I've got the story and the commentary to look forward to. How can life get any better!

I listened to the first few seconds and thought "What the hell does this have to do with anything?"
And then after listening to half of the commentary, I learned my crass mistake!
So I'll have a watch of this tonight.
That said, this really is a great McCoy story. And typical, it's McCoy who gets the blame in Tomorrow's Times when he had no say in where the programme was scheduled.

And it rhymes "us" with "circus". What's not to love? (Apart from the video. And the musical introduction)
