This was the first story to be vid-fired, so it might be interesting to compare with the VHS version.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I think this might be the Doctor Who I've seen the least.

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

I wish it was missing and we had the first three episodes of "Marco Polo" instead.

And now we know that it was Caan, The Insane Dalek, who back in time, breaking the time-lock of the missing episodes, and switched those three episodes of Marco Polo for the three episodes of Planet of Giants. Much in the same way he rescued Davros from the Time War.

I don't mind this story that much sure its a bit cliched but the sets and small cast add to the imtimacy of it all.Doubtless it will be reassessed once it is released like many overlooked serials before it have been

Ooh! Close, but we need more covers showing companions looking demented.

That's a rather nice cover, and I'm looking forward to hearing what they've done with the reconstruction of the original parts 3 & 4....

I like it too but after the way she moaned about the mocked up picture of her on one of the Gallifrey IV CD covers I'll bet Carol Anne will hate it...

The odd thing is, I think it's quite a sexy picture of Carol Anne! I'd ask if the DVD comes with a poster of it, but that might give the game away.

Actually I can see what you mean but that facial expression does make her seem a bit [insert politically incorrect term here]...

"Different from her usual self" would be a good term for that.

That's... possibly the strangest cover I've ever seen. It does make it look a bit like it's just the Planet of Giant Ants...

My thoughts exactly, Dave! Although I do like the 'Hartnell in a cloak' pic.

From what I've gathered, in addition to recording a replacement soundtrack with Russell and Ford as well as impersonators to cover the other cast members, the reconstruction is a mish-mash of re-used (and reversed in places) footage, refilmed footage and newly-created CGI footage. And according to Ian Levine, it is of course the greatest thing ever created and as far as he is concerned Planet of Giants is again a 4-part story. Of course.

It doesn't sound too dissimilar to the old Tenth Planet reconstruction they did back in the late 90's...

I'll be very impressed if the new CGI, older voices and what-not don't mean that the revised Ep3/4 of Planet of Giants is a complete mess.

    But an interesting mess, nevertheless!
