    Default RIP Donna Summer

    http://www.tmz.com/2012/05/17/donna-...ad-last-dance/

Really sad news... what a disco diva she was.

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

Awful news! A very young age to go. We love her PWL album, "Another Place and Time".

This Time I Know It's For Real is a stone cold classic.

    All her records are great.

I'm shocked and saddened by this news, Summer was one of my favourite acts in the "disco era".
As a Motown and Northern Soul fan it was only natural that I latched on to the disco grooves of the mid seventies. When Mary Whitehouse kicked off about Summer's "orgasms" during the song Love To Love You Baby naturally I went and bought the album and spent many a happy hour listening to it through the long hot summer of '76. Later of course I Feel Love became one of the biggest hits of disco and spawned the Electronic Disco sound. Hot Stuff, Bad Girls, a disco version of MacArthur Park, all huge hits never to be forgotten.

God Bless you Donna, you've gone to a better place, Love to love you baby.

I don't like seventies Disco. It's not my cup of tea at all, so I don't really enjoy hits like "I Feel Love" or "Love To Love You Baby". But of my Best Of, "Summer's Gone" that I made in the wake of her passing, there was much to enjoy. I still adore all her PWL Hits - "This Time...", "Breakaway", "Love's About To Change My Heart". "Love's Unkind" and "On The Radio" are great. And I did like her recent comeback hits, "The Queen Is Back" and "Stamp Your Feet".

I missed this, sad news indeed. I Feel Love is a 70's classic. I'm not a fan but you can't help but know that track if you were around in the 70's/80's.

    R.I.P. Donna.
