So we'll have no more complaints about how rubbishly cold this summer has been so far please !
Aw, so many of those solutions sound lovely, but living in a small bedsit (which absorbs heat something chronic) on the third floor of a building means I can't. I'd love to camp out in the garden, especially on crazily hot days, but it's just not to be.

I do now sleep with just a thin blanket instead of a duvet, and the window by my bed is open very wide, but even then it takes me a while to cool off and manage sleep. I do have a fan by my bed, but I'm worried about it breaking down and going up in flames. Which I know is extremely unlikely, but for some reason something in me won't let me keep it on all night.

Are you a heavy sleeper, or a light sleeper?

I'm a heavy sleeper. I can normally sleep through anything. My wife is a total opposite as she will hear a mosquito sneeze in the next street.

Can you sleep during the day?

    Not normally, no.

What gets you up in the morning?

The alarm is set for 5am and if I haven't got up by 5:15, my wife calls up to me.

Do you sleep in at weekends?

I suppose I do as I am up so arly during the week. I am up at 8am at the weekend.

What hours do you normally keep?

I am in bed by 11pm most nights.

    Do you have a going-to-bed-routine?

Lock up, wash, brush teeth then get into bed.

How often can you remember your dreams?

Not often but I know that my dreams are not pleasent by the things Alison has told me. Apparently, I quite often wake her by yelling and screaming. I have even punched her once. She tells me that she tries to calm me down and asks me whats wrong. I'll say something like "it's hiding in the kitchen" and go back to sleep. The thing is, I never remember any of that the next morning.

Do you get enough sleep - and would you like to get more?

I seem to get by on the 6 hours I get midweek. I could do with more but it's just become a routine to go up at 11pm.

Does it get more difficult as you get older?

No, I haven't noticed any change.
I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?

Oh, and there's a distinct absence of pre-bedtime moisturising evidence from the men of Planet Skaro. C'mon boys, this is 2012! We have to work to look good!

There was a woman called Cassandra who was keen on moisturising and look what happened to her!

I do moisturise but only after shaving.

Some of us need building restoration in order to look scruffy, let alone good...
