RIP Jon Lord
One that will be of interest to those of us that are into the harder side of rock...
BBC News are reporting that former Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord has died from pancreatic cancer, aged 71.
He had been undergoing treatment for the illness for the last 11 months.
Lord had been in Deep Purple from the beginning to it's break-up in 1976, and then in the band again from 1984 through to his retirement from rock music in 2002. Since then, he had become an accomplished modern classical music composer.

Sad day. True rock aristocracy. Seen him live near on 20 times, and would move mountains to see him, in whatever group.
I'm actually stunned right now. Stunned.

Sad news. Another rock legend gone. I'm not particularly surprised, mind you, as I read about his illness some time ago, but that doesn't make it any easier.
