Default The BF Time Warp 044: Creatures of Beauty

Following a brief hiatus, the Big Finish Time Warp is BACK! This week, we look back at the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa story Creatures of Beauty...

A planetary ecological disaster! An incurable, disfiguring, genetic disease... Aliens, in breach of galactic law!

Nyssa, under arrest! The TARDIS, inoperable! The Doctor, facing interrogation!

Another situation of dire peril is unfolding for the Doctor and his companion. However, what if it is not clear who is right and who is wrong? Who is ugly and who is beautiful?

Where does the story begin, and whereBladoes it end? Sometimes, it is all a matter of perspective.
So, what are your opinions and/or memories of this one? Has it changed with time? Creatures of Brilliance or Creatures of Blah?

I don't remember a thing about this one, apart from David Daker saying 'Beautiful' in the trailer.

    Not a good sign!
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

There was nothing out of the ordinary about this play, except that they told it in the wrong order to make it seem extraordinary. I don't think it was anything above average, at least as far as I can remember.

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

I loved this story! Very disturbing - yes the narrative leaps about but it’s done to good effect as serves as a timely reminder about The Doctor getting involved in things he shouldn’t. Highly recommended story. Peter, Sarah and David Daker are all superb! 9/10 from me.
