    Default Geoffrey Hughes has died

    Actor Geoffrey Hughes, known for roles in numerous television shows including Coronation Street, Heartbeat, Keeping Up Appearances (and of course the guest role of Mr Popplewick in The Trial of a Time Lord), has died at the age of 68.

    An interesting mention from the Doctor Who News Page Obituary:

    Hughes lived on the Isle of Wight where he was appointed Deputy Lord Lieutenant in 2009, providing the official link between the island and royalty at formal events
