There are reports that Carole Ann Ford is also appearing in this, as a character called Joyce. Mark Eden, who also played Marco Polo in the story of that title, is apparently playing Donald Baverstock, BBC Controller at the time, a little oddly, since Baverstock was then 39, whereas Eden is 85.

While this hasn't been confirmed, it's also rumoured that they're recreating the Three Doctors photocall, with Mark Gatiss as Jon Pertwee.

I hope Gatiss has a prosthetic nose for the occasion.

We'll see what he thinks of it shot from certain angles...

Gosh, if it wasn't billed as a photo I'd have taken that for CGI. It's a glorious recreation, Cardiff would be daft not to contrive a way of using it in the New Series.

Well that is pretty damned gorgeous, even if it does look slightly wrong for some reason... I couldn't tell you what that reason was though!

Take it to the Cardiff filming! Quite right Andrew!

Didn't Verity Lamber have to get the BBC Accounts Department to spread the cost of the console, etc across 26 episodes rather than just putting it against episode 1 and blaming her for going over budget? Or somesuch thing anyway. So they should do the same again, given that the more episodes it gets into, the cheaper it is per episode. Come on Moffat, we've all got to do our bit to save money in these difficult times!!

It'd be such a shame if it didn't get more use, and was just put into the Doctor Who Experience. It looks absolutely gorgeous, doesn't it?

Fingers crossed that the quality of the reconstructions is matched by the quality of the script. If so, this could easily steal the Anniversary thunder from under Moffat's 50th Special.

It's the Thunder From Down Under versus the Gorilla From Manila!

    *Parp*

Anyway, flights of fancy aside this is all very exciting. A new Hartnell... at last!

This is looking fantastic - I think that there's the real danger that this will overshadow whatever Moffat puts out for the 50th (and I'm not talking about his alleged sex addiction there, either!)

It's odd - in that photo he doesn't actually facially resemble Hartnell but his facial expression does...

I think he resembles Hartnell more than Richard Hurndall did!

The roundels are fine- it's the angle the photo is taken from that makes them look wrong. Chack the other photos in the link I put on!
