50 wishes for the 50th
Okay, the idea of this game is simple. You think of something that you would LOVE to see in the 50th Anniversary. You say what it is on this thread, and explain why it'd be excellent. At the bottom of your post, you copy and paste the list of ideas that we've come up with so far. We stop when we get to 50 ideas! The only thing that's vetoed from this list is a multi-Doctor story. It's too obvious.
So, to get the ball rolling, I'll start with an episode written by Russel T Davies.
Why? Well, let's face it. RTD brought the show back from the grave in 2005, and turned it into one of the BBC's most successful shows. It would be absolutely marvellous to have a story written by the man who wrote some of the best episodes of Doctor Who - the man who has such a wonderful imagination.
The list so far:
1. An episode from RTD.
Watchers in the Fourth Dimension: A Doctor Who Podcast
Three Americans and a Brit attempt to watch their way through the entirety of Doctor Who
----
Latest Episode: The WOTAN Clan, discussing The War Machines

2. An appearance from William Russell, Doctor Who's companion elder statesman and a gentleman to boot. He deserves a nod from the show he helped to make such a success.

3. A really good drama about JN-T and RTD, two of the show's biggest behind-the-scenes names. In the hands of a really good dramatist I'm sure there's plenty of scope to compare and contrast two similar yet very different men at two very different times. JN-T, as far as I can see, at the very least played down his sexuality (certainly in his early days as Producer, perhaps not quite so much in the late 80s) and was Producer of a show at a time when the BBC didn't care at all it seems. Whereas RTD was, and quite rightly, openly gay long before he joined the BBC, and was Exec Producer of a show at a time when the BBC would pretty much give Who whatever it wanted!! Compare and contrast, the 80s and the 00s.

Zygons - One of the best designed monsters in Doctor Who's history. It's a crying shame that we've never seen them again on-screen, and the 50th Anniversary would be a perfect time to revisit them!

Cast Sean Pertwee as the 3rd Doctor (if past Doctors were to appear). Age him a bit and whiten his hair and he'd be perfect, the spitting image of his dad...

6. Rebuild an old console room!
I can't really give a good reason for this other than I would love it and it would be a perfect way to generate a bit of nostalgia for the very earlier eras of the show that, unfortunately, many of the actors aren't still around to represent. They'll probably have to build one for the "origins" drama anyway, so why not let Matt Smith have fun in it for the real series too?

I don't have another one yet, I'd just like to applaud ZH's idea - how cool would it be to see Smith prancing around a white roundelled set with a red knob for the door!!

I reckon we'll see the original one reconstructed for An Adventure in Time and Space.

True.... and having built it, you do wonder if the temptation for Moffat & the gang would be just too great for them NOT to want to use it...
I'm in agreement with eccentric movie scientist Dr Who on this one: Most exciting!!

7. A special edition of the Jerry Springer show, to try and reunite former friends Eric Saward and Ian Levine. "Tonight's topic - My friend claims HE wrote Attack of the Cybermen."
(Let's hope the Cardiff bod's are a bit more imaginative than me, I'm floundering after only 6 sensible suggestions!!)

A haul of missing episodes to come back. I want the recent finds to have unlocked a new source, which happened to squirrel away a whole load of film prints in the early seventies, all of which have secretely been recovered and are being held back for the 50th year. I want a complete six-part Troughton story, and I want a selection of Hartnell episodes from stories we don't have much or anything from. I'll say any episode of "The Massacre" and the final episode of "Daleks' Masterplan" if you will.

A cliffhanger at the end of every episode.
As much as I love Doctor Who, I miss the excitement of the cliffhangers. While moving back to a 4 part story may not work anymore, we could end each episode with a brief intro to the next story and end it on a cliffhanger. Shows like Lost in Space and Quantum leap did that really well.

Who on the Big Screen - not a new movie or anything like that, but certain cinema's across the land could hold a simulcast of the 50th anniversary special at the same time that it's on tv. After that they should show a classic story, too, they've been doing these in America recently and apparently they've been pretty successful.
