I think I just about followed this one but may have to listen again... (Oh who we am I kidding here I *will* listen again and we all know it.)

Anyway it was lots of fun and I especially liked the editors.

I have to say this is one of my favourites. It's the fruity performances that do it for me- Jon and Jonno are sinply superb as Spode and Cheesewright, and Susan, as always is giving it her all as all the female characters. Added to this Steve's marvellous production that really evokes a country house setting (in the way the production of Ratanapurar didn't), you have some thing special.

I hope you all liked Steve's recreation of some DW incidental music from the 60s. He worked very hard to get that right and I think it's superb!

Yay, a truly spiffing episode and a whole lot of wiffle :-) Very evocative of Agatha Christie / drawing-room dramas with a tantalising twist. Loving the west country accent there Si! And also loving Jon's blustery "hang 'em all" performance! Who's pulling the strings in this story? I hope all is revealed next week!

Lissa has done some great scripts for us, but this is by miles my favourite. It's an absolutely splendid pastiche of some favourite Wodehouse tropes, with a few sinister twists thrown in.

I've been really lucky to have some really wonderful scripts to work on this year - Si Hunt's Dalek story was a corker and Much Obliged is brilliant in a completely different way, from future-world shopping dystopia to the bliss of pre-war England! I've been really stretched by these productions and I've loved it.

Really great story, one of my favourites so far. I love the setting and the characters. Some of the dialogue is excellent too.

I had a couple of pleasant evenings putting those queues together. Initially I thought I could find a clean enough queue to copy directly - sadly, some bugger or other talks over it every single time!

When I listened to them on The War Games, I thought that it was a very simple queue with only one or two instruments. But as I listened to it back over and again, I kept hearing more and more in it! Argh!


So, I set up a click track on Audacity so I could get it in time and recorded each layer individually. I did a bit of processing and reverb before sticking them together. Instrument Used: Cheap-ish Yamaha keyboard I got for Christmas years and years ago.

But by far and away my favourite part of that queue is the vibraphone. Everything else is a bit wobbly, but the vibes are spot on. g

Cheeswright and Spode are bound to have their own spin-off series eventually... somehow!

Ahh, the Audacity click track: I've spent many an evening using that. As for doing a layer at a time that's pretty much what everyone does these days. It's certainly what I do for pretty much all of the cues I've ever done. It's not like I'd ever be expected to play the cues live at some event - I'd be stuffed if I was asked that!
Nothing wrong with using a cheapish Yamaha either - I've been there too!
