Why are we getting a re-issue of "The Green Death" again?

They're just the hot tips - I was using them as an example of what might be, rather than confirming what would be.

The Visitation for a better transfer of the filmed work, and The Green Death for a better transfer from the original tapes.

I know you're only guessing, and I don't expect you to justify 2-entertains decisions, but if that were the case then in what way could they give a "better transfer" of "The Green Death" than they did before? Just out of interest.

I did read there had been a new transfer technique, but the only release that hadn't been caught by it was "The Ark In Space".

People have been known to complain about the quality being compressed by it and all the extras being squeezed on to one DVD. Personally I've never noticed this, but you know what Doctor Who fans are like!

I think it was that they apparently had to compress the data more than is usual in order to get it on the disc, or something. Anyway, it's one that very often gets brought up when the subject of new Revisitations is being talked about, and I think the balance of speculation is that Dan Hall's recently mentioned "potential fifth Revisitation title" is probably The Green Death. I was quite happy with it myself...

If ONLY they'd thought of this problem at the time! I bet they're kicking themselves.

    Default Terror of the Zygons.....

This is the only complete adventure I don't possess in some form or other - I have about 15 episodes recorded on tape off the telly, and mostly VHS tapes of the others, but I'm gradually approaching something like 50% DVD's. My kids bought me the Blu Ray of the new series' 4th series (if you see what I mean),

I've got one (incomplete) story that has been part animated - what other stories have been part animated? Any or none?

Also, didn't there used to be a website doing reconstructions of the incomplete stories? IIRC you could send them a VHS tape and they'd send you a story? Do they still exist, and, if so, have they progressed to DVD's?

So have I really got to wait 6 months for Terror of the Zygons?

And before that, you had people complaining that The Dominators escaped. No pleasing fans...

The Green Death is the latest story to get revisited...

At the weekend's Midnight Convention, hosted by Starfury and featuring David Tennant and Billie Piper, details of a new Doctor Who DVD were exclusively revealed by commissioning editor of the range, Dan Hall, and documentary maker, Chris Chapman.

At a panel discussing Doctor Who DVDs it was announced that the Jon Pertwee story, The Green Death, will receive the "Revisitations" treatment on a two-disc set in 2013. Chapman has produced a "making of" documentary whilst the release will also feature The Sarah Jane Adventures story Death of the Doctor featuring Katy Manning. The two-parter from the spin-off show will also be available to watch with an audio commentary from former Who showrunner Russell T Davies and the aforementioned Manning.

There's a lot of excitement over on OG where a trailer on the Thetamation website appears to include clips of an animated Tenth Planet, and, briefly, this:

Phew, I'm not alone. I mean, I quite like the idea of animating missing episodes of partly-existing stories, as long as they keep the visuals similarish (a la The Invasion and, as far as you can tell from the clips, Reign of Terror) - but why animate something with very little similarity to the original, which the Power pic above would seem to suggest? Maybe I'm a bit thick, but I just don't get it?
